This cartoon shows a person from Bp plc reacting to the Gulf oil spill. The oil spill is shown as oil spill settlements which suggests that the only reason that the person wants the oil spill to stop is to avoid lawsuits  The cartoonist is suggesting that BP does not care about the people, homes, or the environment that the oil spill affected  The person in the cartoon is also wearing a smiley face and a tag that says “we will make it right. Given that he only cares about money he is probably wearing this to get better public relations without really trying. The cartoonist is most likely trying to suggest that Bp is trying to win back the people by doing the absolute minimum like wearing a tag.

This cartoon also has caricature by showing a large man with a small head a stretched out face, a big red nose, and large ears. This makes him look like a person that is unintelligent and gluttonous person can't grasp the current situation. This is supported by the fact that man also has no idea of how to stop the spill. The Cartoonist is trying to suggest that Bp is incapable of handling oil or fixing the problems that they create. The way that the cartoonist presents this information is effective because they presents the information of the Bp oil spill in a way that makes you believe that Bp has no idea what they are doing.
